Greater Cleveland Asperger Support
Greater Cleveland Asperger Support (GC-AS) is entering its 8th year serving families affected by Asperger's Syndrome, Pervasive Development Disorder, Non-Verbal Learning Disorder and High-Functioning Autism.
This free message board (Yahoo Group) offers a database for parents to safely post their child's ages and interests for future meet-ups and play dates.  Families can also access a database of professionals recommended by other members.  GC-AS publishes weekly announcements of free upcoming area Asperger's/Autism related events.
Fee-based social skills classes, camps, seminars and workshops are posted at the GC-AS website.

Members can post questions and share experiences any time at their convenience.  In case of confidential questions or sensitive issues, a subgroup of parents is available to offer advice off-list.  These parents are "regulars" at Greater Cleveland Asperger Support "Meet & Eat’s", another option to seek valuable advice and support.  In the past the group has met for casual dinner meetings, presentations by local professionals, family social outings, etc.
GC-AS also publishes "Seen & Heard" a regular installment of parenting tips from families in the Asperger's/Autism community.  "Brag Friday" is an uplifting weekly event giving parents an opportunity to brag about their kids' accomplishments - big and small.
Prospective members have the opportunity to choose the message delivery option of individual e-mails, daily digest (a consolidation of messages in one daily e-mail), or no mail (members typically read messages at the GC-AS website).
